For the purpose of finding community-led solutions to effectually respond to and address crisis situations and to support mutual aid efforts in our GTA neighbourhoods, we are sharing these resources in the hopes they might be helpful to anyone who is part of a community led initiative, anyone doing activist work and/or anyone who would like to have access to materials and resources around alternatives to calling the police in the GTA.
This doc is by no means exhaustive. It is essential that we connect with the appropriate people on the ground in each respective field to ensure that this resource authentically and comprehensively reflects trusted services and supports available, both for immediate needs and longer term needs.
Any resources we have added to date that are problematic, please inform us! We want this resource to connect people with safe, trusted supports and organizations.
Although this is a GTA-based resource, we have gathered material from resources around the world to inform the knowledge-based, educational categories as much of this information is universal by nature, ie. harm reduction principles/methodologies, de-escalation training, activist toolkits, etc.
We Need Your Help!
There is still so much more to add and this is where we need your help! Please feel free to add to this resource!
