Bureau Of Power And Light (BPL) is a Toronto-based art collective producing multi-media artworks that foster empathy and cultivate positive social impact. BPL was established in 2015 by partners Andrea Battersby and Geoff Doner.

We create original content and engage in meaningful collaborations to elevate diverse stories through Music, Film, Visual Arts, Live Performance, Digital Media and Public Art. When curating and mounting art exhibitions or performances, producing short films or public murals, we work with Artists and Communities, Institutional and Individual Partners, Entrepreneurs and Organizations to make the world a better place through innovative accessible art experiences.

We are located in Toronto, on the traditional territory of several Indigenous nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat, now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaty signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. This territory is subject to the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement to share and take care of the Great Lakes region. This acknowledgement, however, is only a starting point, a first step. As descendants of white settlers, we, the co founders of BPL, acknowledge that the privileges we have and continue to enjoy are made possible by the historical and ongoing theft of land and genocide of Indigenous Peoples. We commit to proactively and authentically engaging in decolonization, educating ourselves on what land back means and learning and unlearning what is necessary in order to be useful and effectual in our collective efforts towards true reparations.
